Who really wants to be a millionaire - do you wake up saying "I want to be a millionaire", or maybe you wake up saying "billionaire".

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? I’m sure by now we are familiar with the popular show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and its legions of fans that arrive each morning at the studio in line with signs saying “I Want to Be a Millionaire” or “I Already Am A Millionaire”.

What we may not know is that many of us, as a society, are now no longer comfortable with just wanting to be a millionaire. No, many of us are now waiting for the day when we can be a billionaire or more. It seems that greed has taken hold of our fantasies as well and now we aim even higher in our imaginary lives than ever before. So what is to blame for this sudden influx in greed and irrational desire? Is it television shows like “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” that cause us to dream bigger than we should? Is it just human nature that we want what we can’t have?

I think it is a combination of all both with a lot more emphasis on the latter. You see, a lot of peoples’ dreams have changed in recent decades. No longer are we interested in hard work or earning our money. We now want to win it big, hit the lotto, or win a large amount of money somehow rather suddenly and quit our jobs with a glorious leap in the air and a shout about having more money than Elvis. Sure, it sounds irrationally silly but the cold reality is that many of us are holding out for that type of dream. As our economic situations worsen, our hope grows and we spend more and more money on lottery tickets or at casinos or anywhere else where a quick drop of cash is possible. We wait with open mouths hoping for a drop of some sort of free money instead of putting in the work; the long and short of it is that in our quest to become billionaires and retire happy, many of us are just counting on plain old stupid luck.

So whether you want to become a billionaire or become a millionaire, remember that part of the dream is earning your way to the top. You could just wish to become a billionaire but something tells me you might not be so satisfied with your billion dollars if you haven’t earned a penny of it. But then again, I’m broke so I really can’t relate to anyone with money.
